Please read this first -
Before
releasing entrance examination details to the public, some of the important
information will be given as follows.

Distribution of Application
Guidelines for the following entrance examinations and release of the relevant
information on the website are scheduled to start on May 21 (Fri), 2021, or
after.

Application
Guidelines are partially posted on the website, while an official Application
Guidelines booklet is required for the actual application.
The
booklet can be obtained at the Academic Affairs Section of Science, or applicants
can request it by post alternately. Details will be notified at
a later date.

the applicants living outside Japan, contact your prospective supervisor at the
University in advance.
<Winter examination>
Distribution of Application
Guidelines for the following entrance examination is scheduled to start on
October 1 (Fri), 2021, or after.

3) Cases where
application eligibility needs to be examined beforehand
Please
note that applicants in some student categories (e.g., adult working students, early
admission students) must have a prior consultation or undergo an eligibility
screening before applying for the entrance examination.
Applicants are advised to promptly obtain the
original copy of the graduation diploma (or certificate of expected graduation)
and academic transcript from the last school attended, as they are necessary
for the eligibility screening. Details of the eligibility screening application
will be posted on the website at a later date.
<Application
periods>
Summer examination:
Applicants
under the specific qualification, adult working students, early admission students,
and physically disabled students who need special consideration: June 24
(Thurs) – July 1 (Thurs), 2021
Applicants
who wish to take the written examination in English: June 17 (Thurs) – July 1 (Thurs), 2021
Winter examination:
Applicants
under the specific qualification, adult working students, early admission
students, and physically disabled students who need special consideration: November
11 (Thurs) – 18 (Thurs), 2021
Applicants
who wish to take the written examination in English: November 4 (Thurs) – 18 (Thurs), 2021
4) English language
proficiency score
In the Graduate School of Science, departments
excepting the Department of Mathematics usually require a certificate of the external
English test score (TOEIC, TOEFL, or IELTS) to substitute the universityfs foreign
language examination.
Following
changes will be made this year due to the influence of the new coronavirus on
some external English tests (e.g., change to the glottery methodh application).
<Summer examination>
Department
of Physics:
Foreign language
(English) examination will be excluded from the summer examination to conduct
this academic year. Therefore, a test score will not be required for the application.
Department
of Chemistry:
Foreign language
(English) examination will be excluded from the summer examination to conduct
this academic year. Therefore, a test score will not be required for the application.
Department
of Biological Sciences:
Applicants who cannot
submit a test score will need to take the foreign language (English) written
examination (perfect score: 200 points). Those who submit a test score shall also
be eligible to take the foreign language (English) written examination. In this
case, they will be evaluated on the submitted test score or the written
examination, whichever is better.
Please
be advised that we might need to make additional changes depending on the future
situation of the new coronavirus. Check the website of the Graduate School of
Science (http://www.se.tmu.ac.jp/en/entrance_exam.html) regularly for any
updates.
<Winter examination>
Department
of Chemistry:
Foreign language
(English) examination will be excluded from the winter examination to conduct
this academic year. Therefore, a test score will not be required for the application.
Departments
of Physics and Biological Sciences:
A certificate of the
external English test score (TOEIC, TOEFL, or IELTS) will be required for the
application. It is recommended to take an external English test early if you
are planning to take one.
<Important reminders>
Submit any one of the external English test
scores from TOEFL (TOEFL-iBT), TOEIC Listening & Reading Test, and IELTS Academic
Module. Please note that group test scores (TOEFL-ITP, TOEIC-IP, TOEIC Speaking
& Writing Test, and IELTS
General Training Module)
are not acceptable.
Submit one of the followings
within the application period.
1.
TOEIC
Official Score Certificate (original)
2.
TOEFL Test Taker Score Report (either a
photocopy of the original paper score sheet sent from ETS or a printout
of the score from the gMy Home Pageh on the ETS website.
Ø Applicants who choose to submit a TOEFL score must bring his/her original Test Taker Score Report (sent
out by mail from ETS) on the day of the written examination. The test fee
includes one free Test Taker Score Report to be sent to the test taker. Please
note that, however, the report will be mailed if you have selected gOnline
score report AND a paper copy mailed to youh on the gScore Reporting
Preferenceh page when registering for a test. (As of February 2021)

IELTS
Test Report Form (original)
The validity period of the test score is
within two years before the month of the entrance examination. Therefore, the
score of the external English test taken in and after August 2019 and in and
after February 2020 is valid for the summer examination and the winter
examination, respectively.

5) Others
Individual support shall be given to the application
made by the applicants living outside Japan.
