Lectures for those who handle chemicals and hazardous substances, 2018

Lectures for students and researchers who handle chemicals and hazardous substances will be held according to the schedule shown below. At the lectures, a detailed explanation will be given about the University’s regulations formulated in accordance with relevant Japanese law. Examples include how to register purchased reagents and dispose of waste reagents. Japan has stringent laws concerning chemicals and inappropriate disposal of chemicals is punishable by law. All students and researchers who handle chemicals and hazardous substances are required to attend the lectures every year. You are required to attend the lectures this year, too, even if you did so last year. Attendance will be strictly checked during the lectures. This year's schedule is as follows.

Lectures on handling high-pressure and liquefied gas, 2018

Students and researchers who handle high-pressure and liquefied gas are required to attend a series of lectures on the handling of high-pressure and liquefied gas according to the schedule shown below. A detailed explanation will be given about the University’s regulations formulated in accordance with relevant Japanese law. The lectures include such topics as how to purchase, register, and return gas tanks, and how to transport liquefied gas. Almost all types of gas used in experiments are dangerous and must be handled with care. Other universities have reported fatal accidents resulting from the inappropriate handling of high-pressure or liquefied gas. All students and researchers who handle high-pressure and liquefied gas are required to attend the lectures every year, and those who did so last year should do so without fail this year. Attendance will be checked during the lectures. This year's schedule is as follows.

Lectures on handling of radiation and radioactive substances and health examination, 2018

Students and researchers who handle radiation and radioactive substances are required to attend a series of lectures on radiation and radioactive substances, and to undergo a health examination according to the schedule shown below. The lectures and the health examination are conducted according to relevant Japanese law, and all students and researchers who handle radiation and radioactive substances are required to attend the lectures and undergo the health examination every year. The lectures and the health examination are required for handling radiation and radioactive substances at the University or other institutions as part of the University’s research projects. Any student or researcher who fails to do so will not be allowed to handle radiation and radioactive substances at the University or other related institutions. This is required by Japanese law. Attendance will be checked strictly during the lectures. This year's schedule is as follows.

* Three morning sessions (Course B) are identical. Please attend one in your convenience.


* The lectures are divided into two courses: Course A is for those who will attend the lectures at the University for the first time and Course B is for those who have attended Course A before. Those who are attending the lectures for the first time are required to attend both Course A and Course B. Those who have attended Course A before are required to attend only Course B.

  Even if you have attended similar lectures in your home country or at another institution in Japan and are well versed in the handling of radiation and radioactive substances, you are required attend both Course A and Course B if this is your first time to attend the lectures at the University. Those who have been enrolled at the University for two years or more and have received the lectures for beginners are required to attend only Course B.

This year's special health examination for those handling radiation and radioactive substances will take place as follows:
