Advanced materials have often opened new horizons in materials science.  Molecular conductors, high temperature oxide superconductors, C60, and molecular magnets are good examples.  These advanced materials exhibit various kinds of fascinating physical properties.  One of our goals is to control these properties by modifying molecules chemically.  We also hope to develop new materials and to find novel phenomena that lead to new concepts of matter. The subjects of our current intensive research are as follows:

 1. The development of high temperature molecular superconductors and multi-functional molecular
   superconductors.

 2.
Basic and applied research of fullerens and encapsulated metal-fullerens.
 3. Basic and applied research of molecular magnets, especially, chiral magnets.
